A new partner in crime…converted another one!

Just thought I would share this phone message I received tonight from my friend Lil.  I used audio boo, so the link below requires flash player (which means it can’t be viewed/heard on an iPad…so grab your laptop!)  The best part is at the very end.

  1. Yes, it’s great a great idea to record the student’s reading throughout the year, Diana! They could record themselves, listen to themselves, practise, and record again. It is great when they can hear themselves and determine what they need to do to become a “better” oral reader. I posted a few audio clips on our Success Blog last year – students reading their stories in Gord’s class. I also posted audio of Grade 1 students telling what makes them great readers, or what great readers do when they are reading – what strategies they use.

    So fun!

    • Thank you for your comment, George 🙂

We got Lil’s Dots around the World images uploaded to Flikr tonight…project complete! (next I have to get her to open her own Flikr account and see how great it is…after Twitter, of course!)

I think I might use audioboo to record my students reading now and a few times throughout the year so they can see their progress. I really like that audioboo gives you the html coding to put it right on your blog (they even have a wordpress option under the “more” tab!). Just remember to turn off the “location services” before you record because it can’t be removed after.

Again, thanks for your comment, it’s very encouraging.

  2. OH MY GOODNESS! I love this!!!

Welcome to the dark side, Lil! The side where you never sleep and are always learning and trying something new in your class – always for the best interest of students – engagement, acheivement, and excitement (for student AND teacher).

Yes! Definitely get yourself one of those “Twitter” accounts! Best Pro-D EVER!

    Thanks for sharing this, Diana!
